Danielle Marturello, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVS-SA, CCRP
Dr. Danielle Marturello completed her DVM degree at the University of Illinois, followed by a rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston and surgical internship in Colorado. She subsequently completed her surgical residency training at Michigan State University with a dual Master of Science program. Her thesis focused on the development of a feline bone substitute and mechanical testing of feline orthopedic implants (namely the I-Loc interlocking nail). She has published numerous articles over the years, presenting her research at both national and international meetings. Dr. Marturello served as Orthopedic faculty at the University of Illinois, prior to returning to Michigan State University as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery for the last 6 years. There, her research program was focused on 3D printing, patent specific instrumentation, and gait analysis. Dr. Marturello also serves as a faculty instructor for the prestigious AO North America organization, helping to teach orthopedic principles and procedures to veterinary students, interns, residents, and surgeons. Dr. Marturello has specialized training in feline orthopedics, minimally invasive surgery, and oral maxillofacial surgery. She is a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner and enjoys implementing post-operative rehabilitation into her patient recovery plans. She has three cats and a dog at home, whom she loves spending time spoiling.
