Curtis Probst

Curtis W. Probst graduated from the University of Georgia with a DVM degree. He next completed a rotating internship at the University of Saskatchewan, followed by a residency in small animal surgery at the University of Florida. He became board certified in small animal surgery, becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He was a faculty member at Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Probst was a department chairperson at MSU for 14 years. He also served as president of the Veterinary Orthopedic Society and American Association of Veterinary Clinicians. Dr. Probst also completed a second residency in veterinary neurology and neurosurgery through a collaborative program with the University of Tennessee, Affiliated Veterinary Specialists, and Michigan State University. Dr. Probst then became board certified in veterinary neurology and obtained the ACVIM certificate in neurosurgery. Dr. Probst retired from Michigan State University on July 1, 2016. He continued to work as a veterinary neurologist at the Animal Emergency and Specialty Center in Parker, Colorado from July 2016-June 2019 until he returned to Michigan to work for Animal Surgical Center of Michigan.
